Private Lessons
We offer private lessons for all ages and levels on violin or viola in person (at one of our studios: H4B 2W5 or H4A 1B8), or online (via FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, Messenger, WhatsApp, etc). Lessons generally take place once every week, and can vary in length from 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes, depending on the level and needs of the student. Prior experience in music is not necessary, however it is required that students obtain their own instruments. For recommended music stores, please contact us. In the case of young children, parents are encouraged to attend the lessons. Please contact us for information on rates.
Group Lessons
Weekly group lessons are offered as a supplement to private lessons, and all students are encouraged to attend. Group lessons serve as an opportunity for students to play music-related games, work on sight-reading with others, perform for one another in an informal setting, play chamber music, and learn by watching their peers. Separate categories of group classes are offered according to level and age.
Ensemble Playing
We encourage participation in chamber ensembles and large ensembles. We are happy to help create and coach chamber ensembles, and if you are looking for a larger ensemble to join, we would be happy to make some suggestions that are appropriate to your age and level!
